Easy. Because when I learned how to become the hero of my story, the love I felt for my life was so amazing, I wanted as many people as possible to get to experience the same thing. 

Here’s how it happened…

I didn’t know it at the time but my way to cope with the fear had always been perfectionism and overachieving.

My younger self always thought I had to achieve, win, and accomplish goals to prove that I was good enough.

The only problem was, I was constantly burnout and no matter how much I achieved, it NEVER resolved my lifelong feeling of not being good enough.

But then…something big changed everything.

In 2015, at 14 years old, my family decided to ditch the rat race and move into a 30’ RV to travel full time.

We began to travel the world in pursuit of rocks to climb, waves to surf, and peaks to hike.

At 14 years old, I was torn away from the high strung pressure of winning and peer pressure, and suddenly I was spending most days in the wilderness with no running water and cell service in the pursuit of flow state.

I spent 7 years asking myself questions like:

• What are my gifts?
• What’s my true self?
• What makes me unique?
• What are my biggest weaknesses?
• What do I have to offer the world?

Little by little, I started to find an inkling of purpose, something that made my life feel meaningful.

The first thing I did was turn my passion for travel and adventure into a business by co-founding a blog NomadsWithAPurpose.com at the age of 15.

For years, it was amazing, and became an expression of my gifts and talents and forced me to overcome challenges along the way.

But then, things changed…

My business started to feel pointless and insignificant. Over the years, my passion had shifted from travel to flow state & high performance so long story short, so I decided to start a new business.

Shortly after launching my coaching business, I felt more unfulfilled than ever 🥺

My life felt empty and meaningless.

For months, I felt completely unmotivated, lost, and overwhelmed by endless goals that didn’t seem to matter.

I isolated myself until one day I realized…

though my business was a purpose, it wasn’t my soul’s Calling.

I began to question what my soul’s calling really was.

After years of mindfulness in combination with hundreds of courses and books, the pieces started to fall into place.

My soul’s purpose wasn’t about accomplishing more goals that made me feel like I was good enough. It was the very opposite.

My soul’s purpose was about overcoming my biggest fears in order to become my TRUE SELF.

Here’s where crazy things started happening…

I thought back to my younger self and began to see that my biggest fear was being heard and seen.

Ironically, I also remembered a childhood dream I had of speaking on stage when I was only 10 or 11…

That’s when it clicked for me.

So in February of 2021, I got it in my head that I was going to give a TEDx talk one day. Not a question, but an absolute knowingness that I would indeed give a TEDx talk one day.

On a conscious level, it didn’t make any sense to me!!!

“Why would I want to speak, that’s terrifying?!?!”

But there was a part of it that did made total sense to me…it was my soul’s mission calling forth.

I knew that if I were chosen to speak, it would be the heroic action that I would ever be able to conjure from my soul.

Not surprisingly, fear kicked in…and I waited, too afraid to apply for any event🙈

In the months of waiting, I got pulled back into my past patterns. I was overstressed, overworked, and felt like no one believed in me.

Then one day in August, I was in South Dakota considering giving up on all my dreams and just being a waitress for a while, when I opened my phone and there on the screen was an announcement the TEDx speaker applications had just opened up in none other than my favorite town on earth.

In my desperation, I took massive imperfect action and applied to speak at the event even though it felt insane, absurd, and ridiculous. I figured the odds of being chosen were low anyway so I took leap of faith.

Two months later, my heart stopped beating for a second when I opened my email and saw a short message in my email inbox that read:

“Congratulations! You’ve been chosen to speak at TEDxLander”

I was overwhelmed with excitement and petrifying fear all at once but in the synchronicity of being chosen to speak, I knew this was my mission I had to fulfill.

The months that followed were a grueling test on my journey.

From the outline to the 100s of hours practicing the talk from start to finish, at every phase I felt gut-wrenching shame that it was not enough. I was not enough. Stories don’t matter, it needs more value.

I knew all along that THIS was the obstacle, not the speaking.

But I had a hero’s journey to fulfill. So I daringly faced the obstacles anyway.

By the time I stood on the stage to speak, there was no more doubt or fear or shame.

All I had to do was express the most authentic story even though there was a possibility of rejection, judgment, and failure.

Since making that choice, I haven’t looked back…

Long story short, I went from being the most shy, quiet and terrified person you ever would’ve met, to facing my fear of not being good enough, and sharing my story on a stage at TEDx at the age of 21.

The overwhelming sense of meaning I felt in my heart from living my purpose was unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

By the end of it, I knew with certainty that everyone on earth has a purpose.

Now the thing is, you can find your purpose all on your own…

But there’s a reason why all heroes have mentors.
