So I finally sent 12a. This time last year, I set the goal to send 12a. At the time, I’d only ever sent 11b and I really didn’t think I could ever climb anything in the 12 range.
It took me so long to accomplish this goal, the send didn’t exactly carry the weight I thought it would.
Maybe it was the fact that it wasn’t really that hard.
Maybe it was the feeling that 12a is mostly a walk in the park for the average Lander climber.
Or maybe it was awareness that after all these years on my journey, I know it’s not about the WIN.
I’ve had a bad habit of achieving. It’s always been so idealized to see others succeed and for as long as I can remember, my entire life revolved around chasing the next WIN.
7 year old me needed to WIN on the soccer field,
10 year old me needed to WIN on the uneven bars,
14 year old me needed WIN my surf tournaments.
Then 16 year old me learned how to lead climb…
and for some reason, on the wall nothing else mattered. When I got on the sharp end, I had tunnel vision and a heart full of joy.
I didn’t feel like I needed to prove myself…until I did again.
Climbing in a gym started pushing me to feel like I needed to be better at climbing to prove my worth.
Last year in St George, I remember feeling so tired of training & training & training and never feeling like I was “good enough” until one day I realized that it wasn’t the climbing that made me feel that way.
When I healed my programmings and trained my mind from the inside out, I started carrying much less weight up the wall.
I was lighter & freer.
That’s why I created Flow State Warriors, my mindset training program for peak performance….
Because the CRUX,
the BARRIER,
the OBSTACLE
is YOU.
Long story short, it was profound moment for me to top out and not feel this massive sigh of relief or radical triumph.
In fact, it felt pretty lackluster…but I felt the freedom of acceptance that I never used to feel.

Purpose is not a race, it’s a lifelong trek. There are beautiful views, steep sections, long boring sections in the valley floor, and triumphs upon reaching one of the summits. Enjoy this phase for whatever it may bring…but don’t stop moving, don’t think this phase is the be-all-end-all.
Maybe you start by traveling, then a year later you realize you want to serve the collective. Or maybe you start by serving the collective, the community, or the people closest in your life, then you realize you want to go live in Central America.
When you commit to purpose, you commit to expanding beyond barriers constantly. DESIRE is what fuels the courage to face the barriers.
This is your reminder to never stop dreaming. Think bigger. Be so dang curious about how limitless you are. It will ground you, give you clarity, and always lead you to next RIGHT PLACE.

Still in disbelief. Easily, the most meaningful day of my life.
At times, moments felt like minutes and minutes felt like moments.
It will be hard for you to fathom how difficult this was for me. What was difficult was not the action, but the parts of myself that I had to face in order to do this.
I couldn’t stand on that stage & speak until I believed that my story, in and of itself, was valuable.
See, I can recite data all day. I can connect dots between philosophy, ideas, and facts with unwavering assertion.
But my experiences? My life?
Well, what does that matter?
Of course, I’ve grown a lot & the very thing I spoke about was learning to become a master of that voice.
In the 24 hours leading up to my talk, it was a brutal flashback to every competition I had as a kid. So much pressure on myself to perform well.
I had a CHOICE to be the person I was back then…
But the most incredible feeling in the world was to stop & question & realize that I no longer needed to prove myself.
I simply WAS.
If you ever wonder why I talk about 2 seemingly very different things— high performance & purpose, under the same framework, this is why.
The ONLY difference between reaching high performance and purpose, is that purpose challenges WHO YOU ARE, not just WHAT YOU DO.
While I will always continue to challenge myself in the mountains and sea…
It doesn’t compare to the overwhelming gratitude you will feel in your heart when you live in your purpose.
Like flow state, it feels like you’re floating, your heart is beaming. But when you “wake up,” the dream is here to stay.
The meaning is everlasting.
And instead of just serving yourself (which is not to be ashamed of), you realize you have served others in the best way you possibly could have.
That is purpose.

I didn’t used to believe in destiny. I’ll neve

I didn’t used to believe in destiny.
I’ll never know for sure, but it seems to me that our life is like a river with many tributaries.
We think 1 decision could change the trajectory of our lives forever, but like a fork in the river, eventually those streams will rejoin, and the endpoint remains the same.
Your destiny is waiting for you…but you can’t stop moving.
It’s too easy for us to cling onto a branch on the river’s edge. Hold on to the familiar.
But you can’t let fear of the unknown hold you back. You can’t worry about making the wrong decision because you can’t make the wrong decision in destiny after all.
In April, I’m going full time back on the road again. My family rented a house in Montana in 2021, breaking up 6 years of living altogether in an RV. Despite trying our best to accept a new lifestyle…
all tributaries lead to the same pond.
In the past, I would’ve felt slighted—betrayed even, for a shift like this to happen after I’ve finally created closure.
But not this time.
This time I knew with complete trust that this was exactly what had to happen.
In 7 years of changing often, I’ve learned that resisting change does you no good.
It took me 3 years to get over the rejection that came from living in an RV as a teenager.
It took me 2 years to get over the loss of my “old life” that was taken by COVID.
In the last few weeks of reflecting, one of the most notable thoughts that’s crossed my mind is how much I regret clinging onto the past.
In my travels, I’ve been blessed with more fulfillment than many have likely ever experienced in their lifetimes, but at the same time…
I can’t believe how much of my amazing upbringing was wasted in a subconscious state of feeling betrayed.
Time is lost in resistance.
So don’t resist change.
Don’t resist the unknown.
Don’t deny your emotions or suppress your thoughts.
Don’t cling onto the past too tightly and have faith in a wonderful future.
Surrender.
Let go.
Trust.
I truly believe this next transition will be one of the best things to ever happen to me and my family.
Turns out, we’re destined for this.

When I discovered the Map of Consciousness about 2

When I discovered the Map of Consciousness about 2 years ago, I was pretty blown away. To read Hawkins’ philosophy around things I intuitively knew to be true felt like puzzle piece that perfectly fit.
The Map may seem like an oversimplified way to explain the world and humans, but in my learnings I see that it’s the very opposite.
The Map of Consciousness can help us see into the depth of human complexities beyond the logical cause&effect paradigm.
The Map helps me grow as a human. It also helps me have acceptance for those the difficult “negative” times. Oftentimes, no amount of neuroscientific studies can convince us that our suffering is irrational, but in terms of consciousness and soul, the Map shows us that at times, you are simply supposed to feel disempowered.
More recently, it has provided me so much understanding of the collective.
I was really shocked when the author explained how 85% of the population is disempowered (below 200). It made sense though.
Being a mindset coach, I spend almost every second of my day contemplating how different people can overcome their traumas and childhood programmings. It’s not easy or simple to leave behind the belief systems that hold us down in Force.
I believe anyone CAN heal, but I also know many people will never be WILLING to heal.
But here’s the incredible part…
A SINGLE individual at 400 offsets the negative energy 400,000 people who are disempowered (below 200)!
That’s magical because what does that say?
It means your evolution, your growth, your expansion can LITERALLY change the world. You literally raise the vibration of our collective by striving to become your best self every day.
